These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Generation YMCA Hostel (as defined below) will provide accommodation and other products and services at its hostels to Customers (as defined below) and Guests (as defined below). By making a Booking the Customer agrees to comply with these Conditions.
“Customer” means person who makes the Booking
“Generation YMCA Hostel” means Stiftung YMCA Basel (registered company number CHE-110.380.526) and includes all their sub brands like YMCA Hostel, Generation YMCA Hostel, Stay@BaselSBB and Stay@BaselSBB Apertements.
“Guests” means the Customer and any third parties they invite to the Hostel in connection with the Booking
The contract shall come into force upon Generation YMCA Hostel acceptance of the customer’s application. At its discretion, the hostel may confirm the room reservation in writing.
The parties to the contract are Generation YMCA Hostel and the customer. If a third party placed the order on behalf of the customer, then that party shall be liable instead of Generation YMCA Hostel for all obligations arising from the hotel accommodation contract as joint and several debtor together with the customer, in so far as the hotel has a corresponding statement by the third party.
There is no capacity for extra beds in the room.
Any claims against Generation YMCA Hostel shall generally be time-barred one year after the commencement of the general statute of limitations dependent upon knowledge of Civil Court.
Generation YMCA Hostel will use its reasonable endeavours to accommodate any request from the Customer to change the Booking Details but any request to change the dates or length of stay or add products and/or services will be subject to availability and the Customer paying for such increased length of stay and/or products and/or services at Generation YMCA Hostel`s standard rates from time to time.
When booking beds in a shared room, Generation YMCA Hostel will attempt to put people on the same booking in the same room, however this cannot be guaranteed.
The maximal duration of stay is 14 days at a stretch, Generation YMCA Hostel may extend this.
The Customer may cancel the Booking without charge if notice is given to Generation YMCA Hostel at least 24 hours prior to 12.00 AM (local time) on the Arrival Date. In which case Generation YMCA Hostel will refund to the Customer all sums paid by the Customer in advance.
Where the Customer has been offered a discounted rate on condition that the Booking becomes non-refundable upon cancellation then, provided the Customer has been informed of such Condition, in the event of cancellation of the Booking, all Charges applicable to that Booking remain payable in full.
Where the Customer fails to give sufficient notice of cancellation or fails to arrive (no show) at the Hostel, the Booking will be deemed cancelled and the Customer must pay the Hostel the full amount of the whole booking.
Generation YMCA Hostel may at any time cancel a Booking if the Hostel becomes unavailable due to circumstances outside Generation YMCA Hostels control in which case Generation YMCA Hostel Basel will pay the Customer a full refund of any Charges and any booking fee paid.
Generation YMCA Hostel may at any time cancel the Booking if the payment details provided by the Customer are invalid and the Customer fails to provide alternative valid details.
For groups of 12 or more people, please contact us via email for consultation – email@example.com. We might decline all group bookings made online unless we are contacted before. Group Bookings may be subject to a prepayment and adjusted cancellation conditions. Bookings made for 7 or more nights may be subject to a prepayment and adjusted cancellation cond Group Bookings:
- Your booking will be considered a group booking if includes 12 or more people.
- The hostel will contact guests after booking.
- Guests will need to confirm the exact age of your party (groups under 18 years of age are not accepted).
- You will also need to pay the entire cost of the reservation at least 1 month before arrival.
- Late payment will result in the rooms being re-sold.
If you choose payment by credit card when booking you will be charged 100% of the total amount. If you choose a Non-Refundable price you will be charged 100% of the total amount. If you decide to pay upon arrival your reservation must be secured by your credit card. The accommodation amount is payable at the time of check-in unless otherwise specified. We accept cash payments in CHF and EUR as well as credit/debit cards. All reservations will be charged in local currency CHF and based on the international exchange rate at the time of booking.
Supplements are not calculated automatically in the total costs and will have to be paid for separately during your stay.
Check-in and Check-out
Check-in time at the Hostel booked is from 2 PM. Check-in prior to 2 PM may be available by prior arrangement with an additional charge and subject to availability.
Check-out time at the Hostel booked is 10.30 AM. Later check-out times may be possible by prior arrangement with an additional charge and subject to availability. (In the absence of such prior arrangement, failure to check-out by 10.30 AM may result in the Customer being charged for an additional night’s accommodation at the standard applicable rate.
The house rules are part of the terms and conditions.
In case of violation of any of the house rules and in disregard of instructions of the hostel staff, Generation YMCA Hostel is entitled to terminate the contract of accommodation without notice and to give the guest a ban. Services already paid will not be refunded.
By clicking the box which signifies that you accept Generation YMCA Hostel`s terms and conditions, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for any damage caused to Generation YMCA Hostel by you, other members of your party, or anyone invited to Generation YMCA Hostel by you or anyone in your party. Further, you hereby authorize Generation YMCA Hostel to charge your credit card (the same credit card that is used to secure this reservation) for the entire amount required to restore the damaged area back to the condition it was prior to your arrival.
The court of jurisdiction is Basel (Switzerland). These terms and conditions are governed by the law of the Swiss Confederation.
The invalidity of one or more provisions, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affect-ed. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a content closest regulation.
